The best capture setting is DV and mpg HQ as they give the highest quality. You of course should not be running any other programs when capturing. The sound/jump problems may be due to your system not being able to keep up with the capture and is dropping frames.

The preview window is not an indicator of what the captured video looks like. Have you played the captured video file? Does it also have the problems. I would like to keep recording anyway since it is the only video I have. I realize that my VHS tape may not be of great quality and there is only so much the software can do. Is there any way to turn this function off?

I am using the software and components as explained in the instructions and all is good.except during the "Capture Now" transfer event the software keeps cutting out and asks me if I want to save the file. Cause then I'll be stuck with it.I am having some problems after I click "Catpure Now" with my Roxio VHS to DVD software. I don't want to open this thing only to find out that it to doesn't see the roxio audio device/driver and just like the dazzle product you can only see and NOT hear what's playing. I have Windows Vista 32bit with an AMD Dual Core 1.9 processor & 2gig of ram.Īll I need to know if anyone has this product hooked up to a vhs player and VLC media player if when you launch vlc & go to media -> open capture device that your able to select the roxio easy vhs to dvd video device & audio device so that you can see & hear what's playing. But just because I couldn't find people saying they were having audio issues doesn't mean that they don't exist. I just bought the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD product this morning since I couldn't seem to find any forum posts within Roxio & or VLC forums or even on Google saying that there were issues with VLC and Roxio. Now had I done my home work before purchasing the product I would have known that there were issues with various media players & the dazzle product. The problem is that you can't watch the video in full screen mode on either of the accompanying software programs. If I want to hear what's playing in my VCR player I have launch either one of the accompanying software programs that came with my Dazzle capture device. So when I hit the play button I see the tape playing in my VCR player but I can't hear anything. Which means that VLC does not see my dazzle audio driver/device. So I would select Dazzle as my video device but when I go to slect my audio device Dazzle would not be there. However when you launch VLC Media Player and go to Media -> Open Capture Device it'll ask you to select your audio device & video device. Using the Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder you can hear & see what it is that you want to capture. Let me try and go a little bit more indepth and see if I can explain a little better.
